How can one coordinate colors?
The two main things to consider when it comes to colors is balance and associations. What is the best way to measure the space to fit a bench in?
Measure the width and the depth of the floor area where you'd like to place a bench. The easiest way is to use a measuring tape. Hold the start of the tape down at the edge of the area, and let it run to the opposite edge. Make sure the tape is not diagonal, or else you get a value larger than the reality. If the distance is larger than what you can stretch to, ask a friend to assist, or split what you need to measure into multiple parts. You can do this by either holding the tape down partway through and continuing running it while letting the first end go, or by marking how far you have measured on the floor or wall, and reposition the tape to complete the measurement. If you would not like to make a mark on your floor, try putting down a pointy object like a pencil there. Don't forget to avoid dead places where the piece of furniture won't go like electric sockets. Also don't forget to measure the height of the space wherever the ceiling is low.

The austere and rigorous feeling dominant throughout the Cromwellian period showed its influence strongly in the chairs of the time. Any superfluous enrichment was avoided with the exception that the legs and arms were often bobbin-turned, as shown in Fig. 5.
