Questions and answers

How do I measure the space to fit a fridge in?

Measure both the width and the depth of the space where you'd like to place a fridge. The most accurate way is to use a measuring tape. Hold the beginning of the tape down at the edge of the area, and let it run to the other edge. If the distance is larger than what you can stretch to, ask someone else for help, or split what you need to measure up into multiple parts. You can do this by either holding the tape down halfway and continuing running it while letting the first end go, or by marking how far you have measured on the floor or wall, and reposition the tape to complete the measurement. If you want to avoid drawing on your floor, you can position a pointy object like a screwdriver there. Make sure to avoid dead places where the piece of furniture won't go like decorative strips. Also don't forget to measure how high the space is wherever the ceiling is low like in loft rooms.

How do I know if a fridge is for a reasonable price?

1,325.40 British pounds is the average price of fridges here. Most of the fridges in this section cost between £415 and 2,419 British pounds. This means that nine tenths of the products are between the two figures. A good way to see whether an item is priced more or less than expected is to compare it to the median price. The median price is £1,599 which means that exactly half of the fridges costs more and half costs less.

How much extra room is needed in front of a fridge?

Most importantly, ensure that when positioning a fridge you follow all the safety regulations and instructions that come with the fridge, including venting areas and safety clearances. There must also be enough room left, usually behind the appliance, for plugs or pipes. But from strictly a usability point of view, you will need sufficient room in front of a fridge to be able to open its door completely and use it. For this you would need 80 cm at minimum, so a 55 cm deep fridge will require 95 cm in total. Also don't forget that in many cases you will need to open the door completely, to the side of the machine, so placing a fridge next to a wall or other obstruction may cause problems.

Our philosophy

We aim to allow every one of us to live comfortably even if they only have a small space they call home. We scour the Internet for thousands of desks, cabinets, bookcases, storage units, beds, sofabeds and so on by size and colour, to find just the right piece to go in that unused corner and turn it into a dressing corner, or to find that extra long bed that is still narrow enough to squeeze through the bedroom door. From the kitchen to the bedroom, don't just live around furniture - buy furniture that lives with you.

Did you know? We are also present in other countries. You can look for red fridges in the US.
