Questions and answers

What is the best way to measure the space to fit a washer dryer in?

Measure the width and the depth of the floor area where you'd like to place a washer dryer. The easiest way is to use a measuring tape. Hold the beginning down at the edge of the area, and let it run to the opposite edge. If the distance is larger than what you can stretch to with your arms, ask a friend to assist, or split what you need to measure into multiple parts. You can do this by either holding the tape down halfway and continuing running it while letting the first end go, or by marking how far you have measured on the floor or wall, and reposition the tape to complete the measurement. If you want to avoid drawing on the floor, you can position a pointy object like a screwdriver there. Don't forget to avoid dead places where the piece of furniture won't go like decorative strips. Also it may be necessary to take the height of the space and the item into account wherever the ceiling is low like in loft rooms.

How can I choose a colour for a washer dryer?

If you have the option to choose between different colours for a washer dryer that fits your space, it is helpful to know how different colours work together. The two things to consider for everything colour is balance and associations. Balance means that the colours should ideally be coordinated, so that it looks like a unit instead of a random collection of elements. Usual techniques to achieve this are considering a colour wheel, and going for colours that are either quite close to each other, or quite far, for example on different halves of the wheel (complementary colours like blue and yellow) or on different thirds (for example, cyan-orange-purple). Associations with and emotions connected to colours are equally important. It is quite probable that these associations are cultural and learnt, which means that they can be quite different for different individuals. The associations can even be contradictory, which makes it even more difficult to use them as a guide. Blue is often connected to productivity, but also calmness, stability and even sadness. Green is clearly the colour of nature, and is considered to be associated with safety, luck and envy (though in other cultures this latter is yellow instead). Yellow is always a shouty colour and can evoke brightness, warmth, attention and energy (likely evoking the sun), except when it is dark and becomes brown, when it is said to be a sign of comfort and relaxation. Red is considered to be the colour of friendship, energy, leadership, desire and anger, which is a very wide range of feelings. But it is clear that in nature, it means danger or importance, so you probably need to put it next to a neutral colour to allow the brain to rest. These associations are so varied that these guidelines all seem to boil down to just one piece of advice: pause and see what the colour means for you.

How can I order the 75cm deep washer dryers by price?

On every search page one can choose to order the results by their price (lowest or highest first), or relevance. Tap on the button just above the first washer dryer, after "Order by", to change the ordering. Sorting by relevance will show the washer dryer first that matches most of the keywords in the search, while ordering by price will show the cheapest or most expensive washer dryer at the top. We scour the Internet to search among thousands of tables, cabinets, shelves, shoe cabinets, beds, sofabeds and more by size, to find just the right one for you to go next to the bed and turn the room into a dressing corner, or to find that extra long sofa that is still narrow enough to squeeze through the door. From the kitchen to the bedroom, don't just live around furniture - choose furniture that lives with you.
